So, we went camping for the first time this year last weekend. We went to Gordon Bay Provincial park in Lake Cowichan. It was a fantastic weekend with wonderful weather and perfect lake conditions. The swimming was amazing. It was so good we are going again this weekend. The only problem is that Gordon Bay is all booked. At least all of their reservable sites are and we don't want to take the chance that we won't get a sight at all by just going and hoping for one of the first come, first serve sites. So, we decided to make reservations at one of the private campgrounds a mile or so from there. Should be fun. The new place is on a smaller feeder lake and is supposed to be 8 to 10 degrees warmer so swimming should be even better. This is where we are going...

The best thing about the trip was that we stopped to look at a vintage travel trailer on the way home and bought it!! It is a 1969 Shasta Compact! it is cute but does need some work. We are hoping to pick it up this weekend or sometime next week. Since we don't have much of a yard where we live and already have 2 cars in the driveway we had to secure a storage unit. I was able to find one in Lake Cowichan which is great. We camp their most often or even further up island and this way we don't have to tow the trailer up the Malahat every weekend. It will already be there. We can just hook up, go to the market and camp! Yea! After this weekend no more tenting! Woo and Hoo!

Anyway, I am hoping to have my photoblog ready tomorrow or at least before the weekend. I will link when I do have it done. It it so hot today that I think I am going to get a cold beer and head out on the deck.
